oh boy

I have decided that enough is enough...I never wanted to be one of those sweat pants clad moms who becomes a frump once the babies are born...SOO on my adventures at Yorkdale today I bought some new clothes-nice new jeans and capri jeans AND I made a pitstop into Sephora. This was only my 2nd time in Sephora and I have to say that store is pretty darn neat...had I had more time I may have done more damage but I only had a few minutes as hubby and baby were waiting outside the store for me-so i could only buy the one hair product I knew i wanted and didn't have a chance to try out other stuff (thank goodness actually) but I am committed to trying to look and feel my best even with baby in tow. I have started to exercise more, eat much healthier and even put some make up on again and before I know it I'll be fitting into my size 6 and 8 clothes that have been just taking up space in my closet since I got pregnant.
I want to be a yummy mummy!!

  1. Good for you...there is nothing wrong with taking some time to be a frump and settle into being a mother, but if you are into looking good (and I know your are) than it feels great to get back onto that wagon.

Just remember to be realistic and take small steps. Don't even worry about fitting into size 6 yet--get into your "bigger' pre-pregnancy clothes, and then go down from there. You'll reach your long term goal of fitting into all your old clothes eventually, but I find when I make relaistic short term goeals, it really helps me feel a sence of accomplishement to keep going and get to my long term goals!!
I also changed some of my perpective. Even though I wanted to lose weight, remebering that even before I did I didn't have to be frumpy, that I could still have great hair and make-up and flattering stylish clothes even if it wasn't on a size 10 (the smallest I can imagine hitting at this point in my life) frame helped me to feel good about how I looked as a mommy before I got those pounds and inches off (which I did pretty easily while on maternity leave, walking with Zoƫ all the time and breastfeeding, but piled back on the first 2 years I was back to work, and I just recently had to lose again !!)

I tracked my food and exercise on www.fitday.com. It is free and really helped me to think about what I was eating, and how I could fit mre activity into my very full (yet sedentary) days. If you need some help, check it out!!

Sephora is great fun. What did you buy for your hair?? Whatever it is, youo can likely find a deal on Ebay next time (though it is less fun!!)

  2. i bought that glossing cream- i tried bidding for it on ebay a few times and kept getting outbid so i just decided to buy it at the store.
i have set realistic goals and given myself a sort of timeline- like I am going to a wedding in Nov and I want to fit into a certain dress, that kind of thing...when i look at my smaller pre-preg clothes it is hard to imagine that they ever fit in the first place!!

  3. Sounds great, like you;ve got some good goals!! All your clothes stuff will fit in time I am sure...I am not (unblelivably) fitting into things I wore on my honeymoon that I never thought I'd wear again. They are a little tighter up top, but wearable!!!

If you got the large glossing cream, it is worth it. A large tube will last years!!! Glad you like it...

  4. P.S. Did you find a new shampoo you like??? If not, Salley's has some nice ones that are a lot less expensive than salon. Their Slickline is very simlar to Matrix Sleek, and a lot less money!!
